A midpoint always means the published floor plus the published ceiling divided by two. Where a sentence is our reading rather than the data's, it says so.
The symmetry breaks the moment you count anything other than listings. Eight of the 100 services carry the catalogue's own featured flag, and five of those eight sit in web development; SEO, automation and AI have one apiece. The shelf space is equal. The emphasis is not.
The skill split is where the symmetry ends
Every listing also carries a difficulty label. The English edition publishes the three tiers as Beginner, Experienced and Advanced; the Spanish edition as Principiante, Con experiencia and Avanzado. Across the 100 services they divide 21 Beginner, 50 Experienced, 29 Advanced.

The steps are steep and uneven. Beginner to Experienced multiplies the midpoint by 2.7. Experienced to Advanced multiplies it by 2.44. End to end, the ladder is 6.6x.
The more revealing pattern is that ceilings climb faster than floors. Median floors run 150 → 300 → 500, a 3.3x spread. Median ceilings run 400 → 1,050 → 2,500, a 6.25x spread. Bands widen as difficulty rises, and we read that as the catalogue admitting something honest: at the top of the ladder the scope is genuinely unsettled at the moment of quoting, and the width of the band is where that uncertainty gets stored.

Two things fall out of that table. First, all four ladders rise monotonically: the difficulty label is doing real pricing work inside every discipline, without exception. Second, the four ladders sit at wildly different heights, and they interleave. An Advanced automation job at $712.50 is cheaper than an Experienced web build at $1,000, and cheaper again than an Experienced AI job at $1,200.
The practical consequence is unglamorous and worth stating plainly: advanced in an automation quote and advanced in a web quote are not the same money. A tier label ranks work within a discipline. It does not rank work across disciplines, and a buyer holding two quotes that both say complex is holding two different scales.
The AI shelf has no shallow end
Of the 21 Beginner listings, web development holds 7, SEO holds 7, automation holds 6, and AI for business holds one.
That one is “SEO rewriting of product descriptions”, published at $300–$1,200 with a quoted setup of 3 to 6 working days before the work runs in batches — and filed, inside the AI group, under the category SEO content.
Three facts stack up there. The AI group's only entry-level offer is a copywriting pipeline. Its midpoint of $750 is, to the dollar, the median midpoint of the entire 100-service catalogue. And 48 of the 100 listings are cheaper than it.
The floors say the same thing from another angle. The lowest published floor in each group: $15 in SEO, $19 in web development, $50 in automation, $300 in AI. The cheapest way to open a conversation with the AI shelf costs twenty times the cheapest way to open one with SEO, and six times the cheapest automation job.
Our reading: this catalogue offers no inexpensive way to test AI. Every other discipline has a $15-to-$60 rung a cautious buyer can stand on to find out whether the supplier is any good before committing real money. AI's lowest rung is already a median-priced commitment, which changes who can realistically become an AI customer at all.
Where “Advanced” actually piles up
The 29 Advanced listings distribute as 9 in AI, 8 in automation, 6 in web development and 6 in SEO. The two newer disciplines hold 17 of the 29 between them; the two older ones hold 12.
The single highest cell in the twelve-cell table is web development's Advanced tier, at a $3,625 median midpoint — and that figure needs its warning label attached. It is a median over six listings, one of which is “Template for sale: passive income on ThemeForest”, banded $19 to $10,000. That is the widest band and the largest midpoint ($5,009.50) in the catalogue, and the only listing whose floor and ceiling describe two different business models: the price of a single copy against cumulative earnings from the template. Set that row aside and the remaining five have a median midpoint of $3,250.
We publish both numbers. $3,625 is what the data says. $3,250 is what the data says once a row that is arguably not a price band at all has been removed. A reader is entitled to know which is which rather than to be handed one of them.
The rungs overlap, which the labels never mention
The cheapest Advanced listing has a midpoint of $325. The dearest Beginner listing has a midpoint of $800. The two tiers therefore overlap across a $475-wide stretch of the price axis.
Counted out: 7 of the 21 Beginner listings are priced above the cheapest Advanced one, and 6 of the 29 Advanced listings are priced below the dearest Beginner one. Thirteen listings — an eighth of the catalogue — live inside that overlap, and all six of the cheap Advanced ones are automation jobs.
Reading: difficulty in this catalogue is a claim about who can do the work, not about how large the bill will be. The ladder holds firmly at the median and dissolves at the edges — and the edges are where a specific buyer with a specific problem usually finds themselves standing.

None of this is demand data. A count of listings measures what a supplier chose to publish, not what anyone bought. Fifty Experienced listings mean the catalogue is stocked that way; they do not mean fifty customers arrived. Nothing in the file records orders, conversions, discounts, or won and lost quotes, so every sentence above is a statement about supply.
The tiers are also the seller's own judgment. There is no published rubric defining where Beginner ends and Experienced begins, no third-party standard behind the three words, and no guarantee that two listings sharing a tier demand comparable skill from the person doing the work.
One data caveat belongs on the record. Of the 100 listings, exactly one carries a numeric band whose floor and ceiling are identical — $150 and $150 — while its own display label reads “Setup $150–400”. Every median in this article uses the numeric band, so that listing entered the arithmetic at $150. It sits in the Beginner tier, its effect on a 21-value median is small, and it is the sort of thing a reader should hear from us rather than find on their own.
Finally: one vendor, one catalogue, one currency, one moment in time. These are published asking prices, not invoices. This is the shape of one shelf, not the shape of a market.
